1. The Cross.
A. Don't lose sight of the Cross.
a. You will be carried away with false doctrine.
1. Ephesians 4:14
B. The Cross is the point of Christ's power unto us.
a. Salvation.
1. Colossians 2:13-14
b. By Jesus' wounds you are healed.
1. 1st Peter 2:24
c. Redeemed (purchased or saved) us from iniquity.
1. Titus 2:14
a. Iniquity is perverseness; to be bent or crooked; to be wrung out of course.
It is not just that which is wrong, but the tendency to do wrong.
d. Redeemed (purchased or saved) by the blood of Christ.
1. 1st Peter 1:18-19
e. Our peace comes through Jesus on the Cross.
1. Isaiah 53:5
a. Chastisement (instruction; reproof; warning; disciplinary correction).
f. The law of sin and death abolished.
*There is more to the Cross than just saving grace. Look beyond, and that beyond the Crossis through it to the other side, Jesus made the way of escape for every situation right there on Cross. He left nothing out!
2. Jesus' righteous or our own?
A. What is the God-kind of righteousness.
1. Godly or virtuous.
a. Virtuous means: excellence; power; wealth.
b. Godly means: living the God-kind of lifestyle.
2. Holiness.
a. Holiness means: Separating yourself from the world's ways of living, and
living the God-kind of lifestyle.
B. What is your own righteousness.
1. Is as of filthy rags.
a. Isaiah 64:6
b. Living by the world's standards.
c. No wealth. You live in lack.
d. No power. satan is in control.
e. Sickness. You're not healed by your own stripes.
f. Fear. It hasn't been nailed to the Cross.
g. Worry. No peace; it's from Jesus!
C. Psalm 85:8-13
